Dr. Nadera has written a manual on Promoting Mental Health in the Communities for the DOH and the WHO-Phil. She was the focal person for the Suicide Trends in at Risk Territories (START) Project and country coordinator for the development of Suicide First Aid Guidelines for the Philippines. As the founding president of the Foundation for Advancing Wellness, Instruction and Talents, (www.foundationawit.net) she is the local coordinator for the Suicide Prevention Training based on the Suicide First Aid Guidelines for the Philippines (2011) and translation of the guidelines to Filipino (2012). Dr. Nadera also held academic and administrative positions at the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) and was Acting Executive Director of the Natasha Goulbourn Foundation (www.ngf-hope.org), a non-government organization in the Philippines focused on depression and suicide prevention. At the UPOU, she co0designed an online course on Community Mental Health.
Dr. Nadera is involved in various mental health activities for government, non-government and academic institutions in various capacities particularly in training and research. Her research interests include mental health service evaluation, human rights, suicide, pathways to care, help-seeking behavior, and public health program evaluation.
Dr. Nadera holds degrees in Master of Science in Epidemiology (Public Health) and Master of International Mental Health.
