Recreation and leisure experiences often require special lodging environments, which can be grouped by type. All types share certain characteristics: lodging (in many forms), amenities, and a wide range of activities in addition to the primary activity. The basis for each of the three types is a central concept, activity,or theme that remains the focal point for the facility, regardless of the other activities or amenities offered.
