The final step of problem handling process is to conduct a detailed analysis to identify the strong and weak points in the existing IT infrastructure and policies. If needed, IT should make recommendations for necessary changes to security policies, standards and procedures. If any immediate step needs to be taken to prevent re-occurrence of incident, the same should be communicated to all relevant personnel by IT.

Integrate the related processes of change, configuration, incident, asset, capacity and availability management to ensure efficient and effective conducting problem management.

All problems that have been resolved must be properly recorded and documented and there should be corresponding trend analysis made with its remedial solutions for lesson learnt and improvement to be made to IT services.

Unresolved problem within the agreed SLA period should be escalated to higher management
q)
All investigation reports with its details must be submitted to the IT Management.
