The Stock Exchange of Thailand Index Tuesday gained 2.48 per cent thanks mainly to foreign buying.
Foreign investors were net-buyers of Thai shares today, with net position of Bt4.16 billion. This boosted the month-to-date net-buys to Bt11.2 billion.
The SET Index ended at 1,446.84 points, gaining 34.99 points or 2.48 per cent, on turnover of Bt58 billion. The Thai bourse lost 33.43 points or 2.31 per cent yesterday.
Asia Plus Securities noted that the SET Index showed limited upside gain. Given huge foreign net-buys this year, the exchange is bracing for massive outflows, it noted.
From the end of last year, foreign net-buys were tuned at Bt126.46 billion. This was the main force driving up the Index by more than 10 per cent this year.
