Cell growth was carried out at 28 °C in liquid
nutrient medium containing 40 g/l glucose, 4 g/l yeast
extract, 1 g/l (NH4)2SO4, 7 g/l MgSO4 and 1 g/l KH2PO4.
Cells were harvested by centrifugation at 4000 rpm for
10min. Molasses was obtained from the “Spiliopoulos Co”
distillery (Patras, Greece).
