• A word document using Times New Roman font size 12. Titles, references and labels can be of a different size and font as appropriate.
• Document size should be A4 and printed, not handwritten.
• Photographs and diagrams can be included as appropriate.
• The layout and design can be presented as seen fit by the author, but remember this is a formal document and therefore pretty borders and other unnecessary decoration is not appropriate.
• Order of project:
1. The title should be your guiding statement.
2. Abstract (To be discussed in class week 7)
3. Introduction stating the purpose of the report. This may include aspects of your analysis highlighting the important issues that need to be addressed (You do not need to include the thinking tools here e.g. mind maps, as they can be added at the back of the report as an addendum).
4. Methods i.e. what type of primary and secondary research was used and suggestions as to how the research was handled e.g. to compare X with Y etc.
5. Scope of report i.e. who or what was the research aimed at, the size of any sample groups etc. The limitations of the report can also be considered e.g. related areas not covered, or recognition of the requirement for further research to yield more accurate results.
6. Results presented in written, graphical, abstract form with some analysis/interpretation of the data (methods for presenting graphs to be discussed in class with students needing assistance).
7. Conclusions based on the findings.
8. Recommendations as a positive solution or confirmation that the existing situation is adequate. .
9. Bibliography with references.
10. Addendum to include any work that you have done, but does not fit in with the main body of the report e.g. a mind map.
