The cost of electricity generation is associated with the cost of fuel, the efficiency of energy conversion into electricity, and the share of costs not associated with these fuels. The average generation cost of any system depends on how involved is each fuel and each generation technology in total electricity production. Average prices in each tariff and in the system are calculated by the ratio of the annual income ($/year) to the corresponding sales (kWh/year). Average prices and costs are compared to analyze both the relation of price/cost and the existence of subsidies.
