We would go into a small guard station on a dike, a temporary refuge farm laborers, or to a familiar mound in the shade of a tree. Before we settled in, we would have to find a few banana leaves, a spoonful salt, some firewood, and a matchbox. And then we would bring notion fresh fish with their gaping mouths. We would wrap them up tightly in three layers of banana leaves and cover them with mud, If happened to be a sticky kind of clay, then it was even better. We would build a fire and lay the wrapped fish on top, baking it until the mud became completely dry and cracked. After removing the cracked mu and un wrapping all three layers of banana leaves, we would have the most delicious delicacy in the world. Only the steaming white meal remained with all its sweet juice intact after the fish had been clean.
