Thank you very much for the proposed schedule. I am very happy to know you will be with us most of the time. Regarding the schedule I have a couple of comments mainly to enlarge a bit the number of people to engage in the process. Experience in these kind of follow up missions suggests that the more people we are able to engage and interview the more chance we have to come out with interesting findings.
I would suggest to enlarge our potential informants in three different directions:
1. Let's try to talk to the majority –if not all- former participants. It will help us to get as many different perspectives on if and how the workshop impacted on their work and what they would recommend for future initiatives of these kind. Further, it will help us identifying all the practical actions that have been taken following the workshop.
2. Explore more the network participants have established within the health community as well as within the peace community. It is good to have external eyes perspective on the Rugiagli Initiative approach and possibly the level of actual or potential engagement with participants action plans.
3. Expect the unexpected! It is often the case that unexpected lines of analysis emerge during interviews and unforeseen informants worth contacting are identified. We might plan to foresee some flexibility to our program to be ready to pursue these new lines. In this regard, please note that Louisa an I can stay in Hat Yai until Monday 16th June, should some extra time be needed.
I am aware that we face time and probably logistics constraints and that we ask busy professionals to devote part of their preciuos time to meeting us. Based on experience this type of meetings last approx from 45min to 1h30min but there can be a lot of variation.
We don’t have to carry out all interviews individually, when possible and appropriate we can also hold small meetings with, for example, few former participants together. These are initial thoughts and I am not sure they are able to capture all potential stakeholders and issues. Please, let us know your thoughts on this.
I am looking forward to working with all the team on this.
Best regards,
Gabriella
P.S. I am preparing a framework to help us in the data collection and analysis. I will circulate it as soon as ready. I apologize in advance if I will not respond timely in the coming days. I am presently lecturing at the university and I will spend most of my time in class.
