Delate et al. (2003) reviewed numerous scientific studies conducted throughout the U.S. between
1985 and 1993, and reported that yields and overall economic returns in organic farming systems demon- strate their economic viability. Yields from organic systems were equal to or higher than yields from conven- tional systems, and organic systems performed consistently better in drought years.
