5.2.1 Determination of phenolic contents based on Folin-Ciocalteu’s assay
- Transfer the extract solution (1 mL) in to the test tube containing 7
mL of deionized water
- Add 0.5 mL of Folin-Ciocalteu’s reagent into the mixture
- Add 1.5 mL of sodium carbonate solution (200 g/L)
- Mix well the solution and incubate at ambient temperature for 1 hour
- Measure the absorbance at 760 nm and record the data
