This enabled a more comprehensive survey of how effectiveness data is applied in managerial work. The study adopted a qualitative design. The interviews were authorized by hospital district managers and the interviewees gave their consent to participate in the study. The reliability of the study may have been limited by the widely ranging managerial work experience of the respondents. Furthermore, the managers’ familiarity with comparative effectiveness data may vary, which may in turn affect the results.
