IKEA’s efforts are in line with general developments in the Chinese
society. Wang Lin thinks that CSR is gaining importance in China.
“The full range of issues included in this notion has yet to be covered,
but already people’s awareness of several CSR issues is increasing, such
as sustainability reporting, social welfare, social insurance, working
hours and environmental protection”, she says. The Chinese market is
becoming more and more transparent and there is more close scrutiny
of compliance.
