as well as training at their current place of employment. There were also questions inquiring whether the teachers would find it helpful to have continuing education on asthma and if they felt confident in managing a student with an acute asthma attack. Content validity of the evidence-based questionnaire was accomplished by an expert in the field, namely, a pediatric pulmonologist, who reviewed the questionnaire assessing for adequate coverage of content focusing on general asthma knowledge. Test—retest reliability was accomplished by administering the questionnaire to a group of elementary teachers, not involved in this project, on two separate occasions and comparing the results. The percentage of agreement for the 25-item test and three elementary teachers was 90.7%.
