This species was collected from Nangkruan Waterfall in the central (Kanchanaburi Province). This species fits well with the description of the sarawenkensis group, which was defined by Polhemus and Polhemus (1988), Zettel (1994), and Nieser et al. (1997). In the key by Yang and Polhemus (1994), and Andersen et al. (2002a), males of Rhagovelia n.sp.G key to R. sondaica. In the key by Polhemus (1990) and Polhemus and Polhemus (1988), males of Rhagovelia n.sp.G key to R. esakii and R. sebela Polhemus and Polhemus. However, males of Rhagovelia n.sp.G can be distinguished from those of R. esakii and R. sebela by the paramere being narrowed distally, whereas in the latter species, it is truncate distally.
