Dear MR. & Mrs. Narayanon,
First, please call us Scott and Annie, we do not feel that there is a need to be so formal.
There is no need to thank us for our kindness, everything that we have spoken about Pinya we believe to be true. The more we email and learn about the more she impresses us.
About the school that Pinya will be attending, it is aboutt2.4 km from our home. It takes about 5-10 minutes by automobile and about 45 minutes if you walk. Pinya, on most days will be transported to school by Annie on her way to work, and she will take the school bus home.
As far as our weather, when Pinya arrives it will be similar to what your weather is like now temperatures between 75-90F. As we get into mid-September it is going to start to get colder and start to have more rain, average temperatures will be between high 40F and low 70F. Then by mid-November the temps willower from mid-30F to mid 50F, and we get the start of snow, by the beginning of December we will definitely have snow and the temps will greatly change and can go as low as -30F with the wind chill factor. This will last until mid-March, when it will start to get warmer. The reasons for all the movement in the temperatures is that we live right next to Lake Erie and if that does not freeze over all of the winds coming down from Canada pick up a lot of the moisture. We average about 2 meters of snow every year.
If you need advice on what type of clothing Pinya will need please feel free to ask, that is why we are here.
