The online questionnaire consists of four parts, including 43 items. The first part is
about participant's personal information, which contained five items including gender,
age, level of education, the tenure with line manager and the tenure with the
organization. These information served as control variables for data analysis. In
particular, the control variables of 'age' and 'level of education' were set in order to test
if employees of different age level respond differently, so as to examine hypothesis 1b,
2b and 3b. Also, the tenures with the line manager and the organization were
measured respectively in order to tell how well the participant knows about their line
manager as well as how familiar he or she is with the organization.
