Past studies had reported the release of absorbed nutrient from the Chlorella sp. biomass to the surrounding water in the decline growth phase.
Hence, sustainable harvesting technique is required
to control the biomass density of the microalga. Several filamentous
fungi in activated sludge was reported to be able to entrap
the sludge solids to form bio-aggregation and strengthen the flocculation
structure due to their unique filamentous properties
