The processing may include material segregation, washing dirty plastics, shredding, compaction for easy packing and
transportation, dismantling of metal parts (e.g., car engines to take out copper, aluminium and lead) and weighing. Electrical and electronic waste (e-waste) items like wires and computers are usually burnt to expose and recover the saleable parts. Some of them sell the recovered materials daily to middlemen, while others pile the items in large volumes and sell them directly to companies or middlemen.
