the Community
At Cypress, we believe in winning. And the same spirit of excellence that drives our company forward also drives our efforts to help build strong, self-sufficient communities. Through our strategic investments in solution-oriented programs, we are partnering with public, educational and non-profit organizations to help address the many challenging issues affecting the communities where our employees live and work.
We take great pride in contributing to our community by making resources available to those in need of food, shelter and support services and we seek opportunities that enable people to become self-sufficient.
Education
More than two-thirds of our corporate giving supports education that encourages careers in the math and science fields. We look for innovative programs that enhance creativity and educational opportunities for citizens of our community. One such program is the Dr. Frank S. Greene Scholars Program founded by the California Alliance of African American Educators (CAAAE). The Frank S. Green Scholars Program (GSP) encourages and supports selected high school students to explore science, math and technology. The program's graduates currently attend colleges throughout the U.S., including Harvey Mudd College, Howard University, Morehouse College, North Carolina A&T University, the University of Bridgeport, Santa Clara University, and the University of California at Davis.
