Based on this sand dune shape, we wanted to build a new type of wet scrubber. As a
result, Vortecone over spray paint scrubber, shown in Fig. 6, was jointly designed with
Toyota and the University of Kentucky. The first prototype was manufactured and tested
by Trinity Industrial Corp. in Japan in 1998. The first prototype of Vortecone showed
30% less energy consumption compared to a traditional type A scrubber, and 37% less
