Airstrike targets all-Qaedad
BEIRUT: An airstrike believed to have been carried out by the US-led coalition overnight targeted a town controlled by all-Qaeda militants in the northhwestern syria, two activist groups said yesterday.
The Local Coordination Committees and the Brn Rights, both of which gather information from local activists, said the strike his the town of Harem in syritai's Idiib province. There was no immediate word on casualties.
It also was not immediately clear what was targeted , but Harem is controlled by all-Qaeda's syriam branch, know as the Nusra Front.
US aircarft bombed Nusra militants near Harem last week.
If the latest strike is confirmed, it would mark the fourth time that US aircraft have targeted the all-Qaeda affiliate in the US-led coalition's broader aerial campaign against the Islamic State group in syria and Iraq.
The US military says the attacks against the Nusra Front have targeted the so-called Khorasan group, which washington says is a specail cell within Nusra that is plotting attack against Western interests.
Inside syria, however, activists and rebels dismiss the US attempt to distinguish betwenn the Khorasan group and Nusara , saying they are one entity.AP
