This paper describes the influence of the base test plate
material, the base plate immersion time in a silane-coupler
mixture, and concentration of the silane-coupler mixture for
two kinds of silane-couplers. The presence of a coated film
was confirmed by measuring the adhesion force of ice to the
test plate. Moreover, the durability of the surface modification
effect due to the thin film and the mechanical durability of the
thin film were also fully investigated for several types of
silane-couplers and base test plate materials and various
silane-coupler concentrations.
