An alternative process is necessary to counter the issue, one that will provide the accuracy to deter
mine the levels of arsenic while at the same time remaining cost-effective for use in the developing

world. This project entails just that: designed a simple, affordable, energy-effcient device that serves
as an interface between a microfluidic sensor and a mobile device. This potentiostat powers the test
and conditions the output signal for transmission via USB to a mobile phone. An application was
then written to interpret the data, allowing for quick, easy, point-of-care determination of the safety
of water.
