A sustainable approach in the measurement, reporting and enhancement of student
experience across all tertiary education institutions is overdue. The current compliance
driven quality assurance monitored by ASQA and TEQSA is shifting the focus on student
voice from meeting the requirements of the regulator rather than genuinely using the
student voice to enhance their learning experience. The danger of compliance driven quality
is disengaging students and staff in dialogue and systematic improvements in all facets of
the learning experience.
