The learning objective of the game is to order fractions with like and unlike denominators from smallest to largest. A manipulative of fraction cards was made to test the game model in a group of Year 8 students. The objectives were to observe students’ learning processes in playing the game and to obtain students’ feedback on the game. The uses of the game for students with different mathematical abilities were discussed. The concerns of students were incorporated into the design of the basic maths game model to provide a significant framework for the development of digital maths games for learning fractions
