Who goes to Rome and doesn't see the Colosseum??? Well, we almost did! Had purchased tickets online prior to going, which had no times on them. We showed up right at 4 p.m. (Had just arrived in Rome late the night before....still a bit jet lagged) The Colosseum closes at four p.m. If you are in by 4, they let you stay until 5 p.m. We lost out on our tickets that day, but were able to catch it at the end of our trip after returning to Rome from Florence, and Pisa. Went on a rainy day and the line was so short, it was amazing. All the inside attractions such as the museums had mile long lines that day with people who wanted in out of the rain, but the outdoor attractions had only a handful of people at them. The Colosseum is amazing, and a definite must for anyone going to Rome!
