Green Discovery is Vang Vieng's biggest and most reliable operator offering trekking, kayaking, rafting, rock climbing and caving. From here you can also head out with them to Nam Lik Jungle Fly . GD's kit is up to date, plus they have a solid reputation to protect, so safety is a first. Recommended.
Operated by a British Enduro gold medallist and Tom Jones lookalike, this great new outfit is safety conscious, thorough and has decent 125cc hybrid motor-cross bikes on which to enjoy half-day trips through with Tom. Courses involve a lesson before you hit the road. Great reviews.
Based at Chez Mango , VV Jeep Tour takes in the best of the countryside in friendly Noé's jeep; first he'll take you to a nearby mountain which you'll gently ascend for an amazing view, next a walk in the paddy fields followed by a swim in the blue lagoon at Tham Phu Kam, before taking a closer look in the cave itself.
The only dedicated climbing outfit in town, with experienced, multi-lingual guides and sturdy kit.
We went to the water cave as part of a day tour tubing and kayaking. After a short walk we came to the cave where everyone was given a tube and a head torch also life jacket for those who can't swim. The cave is about 500 metres long and you pull yourself along by rope. At times you can just lie back and float and watch the stalactites above you by torch light. We were lucky as it wasn't that crowded and could just float on the way back and relax. No one was screaming thankfully. After this we did some kayaking on the Nam Song which was also lots of fun stopping at different spots along the river
everyone is given a tire tube to float with and there are ropes all the way to the end of this cave. basically it is safe and interesting
The Lagoon is small in itself, but there is a big tree where you can jump to the water time after time. I went in the morning and was happy about it, as in the afternoon, it gets crowed and noisy.
