Microorganisms play a vital role in creating this universe and maintaining life in it. Dealing with the interrelationships of organisms and the relationships between organisms and their environment was formerly more or less confined to a small group of specialists within the scientific community. The role of soil microbes is of high interest, since they are responsible
for most biological transformations and drive the development of stable and labile pools of carbon (C), nitrogen (N) and other nutrients, which facilitate the subsequent establishment of plant communities.
