The thermoelectriccharacteristicsofalignedZnO/PVPcompositenanofibers (NFs)preparedbyelectro-
spinning andsubsequentthermalannealingwereexaminedbythecomparisonbetweentheirmesoscale
structure andtheSeebeckcoefficient. RapidthermalannealingofNFsproducesmesoscalegrainsanda
Seebeck coefficient of 313.7 μV/K. Incontrast,theNFsannealedinaconventionalfurnacehavea
straight-line shapewithoutanydiscerniblegrains,andtheirSeebeckcoefficient islargelyfourtimes
smaller (82.1 μV/K). ThedifferenceinthestructuralmorphologyoftheNFsresultsintheirdifference
in Seebeckcoefficients. ThemesoscalegrainsoftheNFsannealedbyrapidthermalannealingare
efficient inreducingthermalconductivityandcontributetoanenhancementofthethermoelectric
propertie
