The dryer could be considered as a three-surface enclosure with
a radiation network as shown in Fig. 3. Surface C (chamber wall
surface) was reradiating and was assumed to be insulated. Therefore,
the effect of convection was assumed to be negligible. Since,
with Qc = 0, the net radiation transfer from the FIR heater surface
must equal to the net radiation transfer to the banana surface
(AB). The radiation network in this case is a simple parallel connection
and the rate of radiation heat transfer at the banana surface
(QB) can be obtained directly from:
