RESULTS
A. lakoocha extract was evaluated for
antimicrobial potential against oral pathogens by
an agar diffusion assay, the results of which are
shown in Table 1. All tested strains were
susceptible to A. lakoocha extract with variable
degrees of inhibition zones. The extract was
found effective against both Gram positive
bacteria and Gram negative bacteria. The
solvent control, 10 % DMSO, did not affect
microorganism growth. The MIC and MBC of A.
lakoocha extract as evaluated by a microdilution
assay are shown in Table 1. The most
susceptible strains were S. mutans, P. gingivalis,
F. nucleatum and T. forsythia with MIC of
approximately 0.1 mg/ml and MBC 0.2 mg/m
