Cu(II), Pb(II), Fe(III) and Al(III) could be simultaneously detected
using cyanidin extracted from red cabbage as colorimetric reagent.
This method shows potentially simultaneous detection of metal
ions by naked-eye in both qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Cyanidin can be applied in real water samples. This is quite important
because the possibility to use in water environments is one of
the major drawbacks of most reported chemosensors. In addition,
this method is easy to operate by a non-expert operator with a rapid
detection and no complicate sample preparation. Moreover, it
is an environmental friendly detection due to the usage of low volume
for all reagents, and cyanidin is also the common natural
product easily extracted from several Thai plants
