The effect of changing the sulfuric acid concentration (0.0, 0.2,
0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.0 mol/L) on the release of sugars to the liquid
fraction after the pretreatment was investigated, using a constant
solid concentration of 15% w/v in the slurry, and the results are
shown in Fig. 1A and B. A high sugar concentration was obtained
in the hydrolyzate at all dilute acid concentrations evaluated in
comparison with the control set up.
