Unlike
other microalgae–prawn studies (e.g. Robertson,
Lawence & Castille 1993; Velasco, Lawence & Castille
1999; Ju et al. 2009), we assessed the nutritional
efficacy of microalgal additives for
conditioning of adult black tiger prawns near the
time of harvesting. The study duration was only
4 weeks, about half the time period conducted in
most other studies (Robertson et al. 1993; Velasco
et al. 1999; Ju et al. 2009; Li, Mangott, Grierson &
Schenk 2013). Furthermore, we utilized several
