1.8 Traffic, Access and other Restrictions
If the Contractor selects to construct temporary access facilities at other locations, he shall make all arrangements with the owners of the property at his responsibility and expense, and a request and the following information shall be submitted to the Engineer for approval:
(a) Access road location including road, bridge and drainage construction plans and details.
(b) Duration of temporary access.
The temporary access facilities shall remain the property of the Contractor and shall be removed from the Site within the time established in the Contractor’s request to construct the temporary access.
The Contractor shall construct additional service and construction roads as required for his operations whether inside or outside of the site boundaries at no additional cost to the Owner.
Fill for embankment of temporary roads shall be sand and the surface shall be laterite or crushed stone base of sufficient width and thickness. The Contractor shall finish all fill material for temporary roads at no additional cost to the Owner.
It shall be the Contractor’s responsibility at all times during the period of the Contract to control traffic over the Works so as to avoid any damage or failures. Any such damage or failure shall be the sole responsibility of the Contractor and shall be repaired to the satisfaction of the Engineer at the Contractor's expense. The Contractor shall also maintain all service roads and construction roads within the boundaries of the Contract.
Where needed, the Contractor shall provide personnel for directing traffic and maintaining barricades and warning signs at all hours during day and night.
With respect to his/her own operations and the operations of all his/her subcontractors, the Contractor shall provide marking, lighting, and other acceptable means of identifying: personnel; equipment; vehicles; storage areas; and any work area or condition that may be hazardous to other users of the site.
When the Contract requires the maintenance of vehicular traffic on an existing road, street, or highway during the Contractor's performance of Work that is otherwise provided for in the Contract, Plans, and Specifications, the Contractor shall keep such road, street, or highway open to all traffic and shall provide such maintenance as may SEAGATE NEW DRIVE BUILDING 6 (PHASE 2 & 3) GENERAL REQUIREMENT
