Effect of Nitrogen Content on Biopolyester Production: Table III summarized the types of
biopolyesters produced by A. eutrophu5 under the presence of various co-substrates, and nitrogen
sources. As glucose was used as a main carbon source and in the absence of co-substrate, P(3HBco-3HV)
biopolyester were favorably accumulated under nitrogen rich and limit sources whereas
P(3HB) was the main type of the biopolyester when cells were grown in the nitrogen free medium.
Similar pattern of biopolymer types was observed when glucose and propionic acid were used as
the main and co-carbon sources. Interestingly, when glucose was used as the main carbon
source with acetic/butyric acid as a co-carbon source, in either rich- or limited nitrogen source,
P(3HB-co-4HB) was accumulated.
