2.2 Data analysis
Each response was recorded as correct (1 point) or incorrect (0 points). Items left blank were coded as incorrect. The total score was calculated as the sum of the correct items. A series of subscales in route, schedule, contraindications, live virus vaccines, storage and handling, and overall knowledge were created similarly. Total scores were further divided into “pass” (score of 19 or higher) or “non-pass” (score of 18 or lower). For practical purposes, the authors hypothesize that healthcare professionals with a passing score have a sufficient level of competency to store and administer vaccines safely.
