RANGERS’ bid to return to the Scottish Premiership ended in disgraceful scenes at Motherwell yesterday.
Gers substitute Bilel Mohsni kicked and punched Lee Erwin after the final whistle, sparking a mass brawl which resulted in that pair and the hosts’ Fraser Kerr receiving red cards.
Motherwell’s Erwin said: ‘I stuck out my hand and he (Mohsni) told me to eff off. He reacted badly but a player at that level should not be acting like that. It’s embarrassing.
Second-half goals from Marvin Johnson, Lionel Ainsworth and John Sutton gave Motherwell a 3-0 win to seal a 6-1 aggregate success and dash Rangers’ hopes of a third successive promotion .
Asked if he thought Motherwell deserved their top-flight place, Erwin said: ‘We battered them home and away.’
