As a veteran of 6 WCD events you might think I would have got my fill of exotic cars. I'm afraid that is not the case! I was recently back for more. The WCD Staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the cars (as always) and with 2 Lamborghinis, a Ferrari and a hopped up Jag in the driving line-up I knew the drive would be memorable. There is no question the thundering power of the Lamborghini Gallardo Performante convertible really raises the pulse rate as the gear shifts come in hard and fast motivated by a pull on the the E-gear paddle shifter. This car definitely lives up to it's charging bull monniker....no need to change much in the Gallardo replacement (except for even more power and lighter body:)). It was nice to see Jaguar back with a super-performing comfort cocoon. This car can run with the "Bulls" and the "Stallions" while allowing it's occupants to sip a cup of tea and pass around the Grey Poupon for the sandwiches!! Then there was the Ferrari 458 Italia; this car is beautiful, quick, precise and confidence inspiring and it sings with a great tenor voice as the revs build. The F1 gearbox shifts a little bit more smoothly than the Lambo E-gear system and you feel that everything is more under your contol, consistent with riding on a very fast but well behaved stallion. I hope Lamborghini and Ferrari keep their future cars true to their respective traditions and geneology; brute power, great sound effects and superb handling for the Lambos and refined power, great sound effects and superb handling for Ferraris. As long as WCD continue to introduce the latest and greatest exotics into their line-up I am destined to return to drive them. If you have never driven a Ferrai or a Lamborghini so far in your life then I highly recommend that you do so and be King for a day
