A total of 67 subjects were recruited for the study after considering inclusion and exclusion criteria. However, 4 of the 67 caregivers refused to answer the questionnaire as they claimed that too many questions needed to be answered, and another 3 subjects could not complete all of the questions. Thus, a final sample of 60 subjects was enrolled in the study with the response rate of 89.5%. The majority of the subjects were Malays, which constituted 95% of the total number of caregivers. The high percentage of Malay respondents was mainly due to the fact that this study was conducted in Kelantan, where 90% of the population is Malay. The percentage of female caregivers was higher than males (56% and 43%, respectively) Most of the caregivers (80%) were married and 95% of them stayed with the patients.
