Toys lnc . Wants its employees to be happy and successful. I feel it is important for all employees to take vacation. I want everyone to take time off.
There are two options for you to look at. I ask you to choose one of the two options. One option gives reasons to keep our current vacation policy. The other option give reasons to Change our current policy and chose the business for two weeks every year.
Please read about the two options and reasons for each. Then check the option you like best. Please return your email with your choice by the end of the day Friday.
Option 1 : keep current vacation policy
Now, at Toys Inc., all employees have two weeks of vacation every year. Employees choose when to use their vacation days. Here are some reasons to keep the policy we have now .
- Employees can use their vacation time anytime. They can plan a vacation around their family needs.
- Closing the factory for two weeks reduces the number of toys we produce. We don't want to lose business. Other factories are open 52 weeks a year. We need to do the same.
- The the company can reduce worker stress in other ways. We can give our workers a place to exercise so they can improve their health. We can give our employees special schedules or reduce the hours they work. We do not need to close the company just because some workers need to take a vacation.
Option 2 : Change the vacation policy
One way for all employees to take vacation is to close our business for two weeks every year. All employees take their vacation during those two weeks. Here are some reasons to Change this policy.
- Our employees do not take the vacation time they need. Some employees don't take vacation at all. Many employees to go on vacation, but they don't stop thinking about work. They call the company during their vacation. They check their company email. Closing the company every year for two weeks solves this problem.
- it work in other countries . In China, companies give their employees a week of vacation called Golden Week. Everyone takes a vacation at the same time.
- Tired workers lose money for the company. Many of our employees work long hours. They are more likely to have accidents and get hurt. They are more likely to feel stress and get sick. Every time an employee gets hurt or sick, we produce less.
