Thaksin Rajanives Palace or Phra Tamnak Thaksin Rajanives is located on Tanyong Mountain, Tambon Kaluwo Nua. It was constructed in 1973 after HM King Bhumibol decided to build a royal residence in the southernmost part of Thailandon the border with Malaysia, so that he could visit and tend to the needs of the mainly Muslim population of the area.
The palace was built in the Thai hip-roofed house style popular in the south. His Majesty and the family usually come here during October to December.
