Principal among these new products and services is a new SNCF subsidiary. IDTGV is a low-cost, high-speed rail service designed to appeal to younger people. With tickets sold only online, IDTGV offers services between Paris and the south of France. It was developed following a comprehensive customer- and industry-benchmarking effort that attempted to fully understand SNCF’s marketplace position and potential. The effort also produced an innovative service offering catalog and new interactive mobility services for business and leisure, such as online video games and downloadable movies.
