In Conclusion
In this guide we have devoted more space to the presentation of tabular information
than to the production of charts. This is not to negate the importance of charts, nor
indeed the value of a clear discussion of numerical results in the text.
However tabular presentation has become the "Cinderella" method of data
presentation, compared to the attention devoted to imaginative methods of graphical
presentation. Tables remain important and it is through the appropriate use of all
methods that research results can be reported in a way which is fair and balanced at the
