Tesco is one of the leading retailers, serving millions of customers every day. In conjunction with the slogan “Every Little Helps”, Tesco management boards have come out with the strategy of using diversity and inclusion to provide better services in year 2010 (Anon, 2012).Tesco new policy and strategy is to ensure that its workforce has a balance of different people (Anon, 2012) and at the same time neutralize ageing workforce issue (Coulthard et al, 2010).
Tesco’s diversity and inclusion strategy are central to the way of recruitment, training and development. As stated in the articles of Anon (2012), it aims to achieve three objectives which is to develop talent plans for the business, to nurture career plans for individuals and succession plans for jobs.
In order to further improve diversity strategy, Tesco Chief Executive Officer, Lord MacLaurin, together with his team members agreed to form a partnership with three diversity partners in the year 2005(Anon, 2012). This can refer to appendix.
