and hemoglobin (HGB) were significantly increased whereas the
mean corpuseular volume (MCV) was decreased. In addition, as
compared to the control, the number of eosinophils was notably
increased in the male group treated with the EJ-ext while that
of basophils of the male satellite group was increased. Nevertheless,
all values lay within the normal limits (Feldman et
al., 2000), the results are considered as normal for this animal
species. Thus, such changes do not suggest that the EJ-ext produces
toxicity in subacute period.
