The deodorization process was carried out at laboratory scale
(batch size 250 mL) under reduced pressure of 1 mbar for 6 h at
225 C. Steam was injected from the beginning of the heating
phase, during the 6 h of stripping at processing temperature, and
during the cooling phase to 100 C. Cooling was continued until
the oil temperature reached 60 C. Vacuum was then broken with
nitrogen. The samples were analysed by GC/FID, sealed in aluminium
bottles and stored in a freezer at 15 C.
