conditions, respectively, reported having
stopped. After adjustment for background
characteristics, the odds ratio for smoking cessation
for TV media versus Control was 0.97
(p = 0.89), and for TV media plus LTCN versus
TV media, 1.19 (p = 0.52). Among
ex-smokers, 96.5% (551/571), 96.6% (825/
854), and 97.1% (303/312) in Control, TV
media only, and TV media plus LTCN conditions,
respectively, reported remaining abstinent.
After adjustment for background characteristics,
the odds ratio for remaining abstinent
for TV media versus control was 1.18
(p = 0.59), and for TV media plus LTCN versus
TV media only, 1.28 (p = 0.56).
