A recent study reported a significant decrease in HbA1c after performing high-intensity resistance exercises in older patients with type 2 diabetes for over 3 months (Tinetti 2003). Because HbA1c measures the blood sugar level over the previous 2-3 months, a significant change in this parameter can be expected following a long-term intervention. However, in this study, a short-term high-intensity intervention combined with WBV resulted in a significant decrease in HbA1c. Furthermore, the decrease of 0.8% was considerably significant as compared with previous reports
